Founded in March 2022 in San Marcos, California, Ramen Mik brings the genuine flavors of northern Japan to American shores. In March 2024, we proudly expanded with our second location in Escondido. Hokkaido is famous for four distinct ramen styles from Sapporo, Asahikawa, Hakodate, and Kushiro. Unlike the milky white tonkotsu broth popular in America, Hokkaido specializes in clear pork bone broth (chintan tonkotsu) that’s slowly simmered with chicken and seafood.
At Ramen Mik, we serve our ramen with a clear broth made from a blend of pork bones, beef bones, and chicken bones. We’re proud to import our noodles and sauce directly from Nishiyama Seimen, a company founded by one of the developers of Sapporo miso ramen.

The 八 in the logo of Maruhachi is the number eight in KANJI. In Japan this number represents good fortune when it´s written like this; the shape of the character is wider towards the bottom which implies a sign of good luck.
Which is why we like to serve fortunate and delicious dishes. Our main dishes at the moment are Beef roll, Udon, Chicken patties, Sukiyaki and Cream Mochi. We will be offering new dishes in the future as well.
The San Diego High School International Student Ambassadors will be selling delicious cake pops and refreshing Ramune at the Otsukimi event to raise funds for their upcoming Japan 2025 trip. These dedicated students work closely with San Diego’s 24 sister and friendship cities, embodying the spirit of global citizenship. By supporting their booth, you’re helping to empower the next generation of leaders committed to fostering international understanding and cultural exchange. Join us in supporting their mission to build bridges across cultures and create a more connected world!
